Our Indian Valley branch is proud to announce that beginning September 3, 2024, we will offering a new Arthritis Exercise Program.
The Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program (AFEP) is a community-based,
recreational exercise program developed by the Arthritis Foundation. A trained
AFEP instructor covers a variety of range of motion, strength and endurance
building activities, relaxation techniques and health education topics.

Instructor: Lisa, Certified Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program Leader
The program can be beneficial for people with arthritis and/or arthritis-related
disease, are new to exercise or have been sedentary for a period of time or are
returning to exercise after recovering from illness or injury. This class provides
safe ways to stay active, reduce pain, and move more easily. All the exercises
can be modified to meet participant needs and can be performed standing or
seated.
The instructor for this class will be Lisa. Lisa is a Certified Arthritis Foundation
Exercise Program Leader as well as an AAAI/ISMA Certified Older Adult Fitness
Trainer and Silver Sneakers Certified Instructor and has earned a specialty
certificate as a Strength and Conditioning for Seniors Consultant. Lisa is also an
AAAI/ISMA and AEA Certified Aquatic Exercise Instructor.
